Jack the Brave

Gwen Beckett writes: My son Jack, who’s 10 years old, has taken part in the Brave the Shave to raise money for Macmillan and support those people who lose their hair whilst going through cancer treatment. Jack first heard about the Brave the Shave on the radio and asked straight away if he could take part. I signed him up on 27.07.16 with a quick turnaround, having his head shaved on 10.08.16 at Jamie Goodlass Hair Salon in Hornsea. You can find Jack’s profile story he has created and pictures on the link below:

Jack has currently raised £90 online and £35 in cash. However people can still donate using the link. On it Jack writes: “Hi, my name is Jack. As a 10 year old boy, I love my hair, styling it every day and going to the hairdressers. However, as soon as I heard the ‘Brave The Shave’ advert on the radio I knew I wanted to take part. I want to do something good to help those affected by cancer and raise money. I never met my Granddad (my Dad’s Dad) and the year after I was born my Grandma (my Mum’s Mum) also died, both from cancer. My target is £100. However I’d love to raise more for this charity. Thank you for your support, love Jack x” So what do you do when your 10 year old son says he wants to take part in the ‘Brave The Shave’? Well you support him of course!! We are so proud of our son. No matter what troubles he’s had he always bounces back. He’s kind, caring, funny, excitable and loud and he’s got a heart of gold. He is a brilliant big brother to Florence and is the best son ever!!! The fact he’s come to us to ask if he can do this is amazing.
