Countdown to Launch – DONG Energy’s New East Coast Community Fund

Countdown to Launch

GrantScape, the national grant-making charity, is hosting a series of open public events for an exciting new community grants fund (the East Coast Community Fund) before its official launched in December. These public events form part of a wide-ranging stakeholder consultation exercise, and will enable local voluntary groups and organisations to provide their views on the Fund’s proposed criteria before they are finalised. The eight planned events will also give people the opportunity to meet the GrantScape team, chat through their groups’ project ideas, and find out how and when they will be able to apply for grants. The East Coast Community Fund is being made possible by DONG Energy and relates to their Race Bank Offshore Wind Farm (located off the Lincolnshire and North Norfolk coast) and their Hornsea Offshore Wind Farm (located off the Yorkshire coast). For the next 20 years, approximately £465,000 will be available from the Fund as grants for community and environmental projects within the area of benefit. The Fund will be administered by GrantScape with key support from a local Advisory Group. The date and location of the Hornsea exhibition is as follows: Wednesday 12th October
  • 12pm – 3pm at Hornsea Town Hall, Hornsea, HU18 1PA
There is no need to book a place – just turn up at a time that suits you. A map showing the suggested area that the Fund will cover is on GrantScape’s website at: http://grantscape.org.uk/fund/eastcoastcommunityfund/  Groups are encouraged to check this before attending one of the events to ensure their project is located within the proposed area of benefit. Full details about all the public events and the Fund are also on the charity’s website, or you can call 01908 247634 to speak to a member of the GrantScape team.
