Reigning Champion, Hornsea’s Jack Maxey won the ERUGC Junior Championship at Burstwick on Wednesday 1st August by eight shots, showing that his course experience (having been a member of Burstwick for nearly a decade) and a level of talent that gets him in to the Yorkshire team were not to be reckoned with on the day.
What a great month Jack had. Whilst away on holiday visiting relatives down South he entered the South of England Boy’s Championship. This is a four-round event with many of the best juniors around playing. Some had even come from Dubai to play in it. After a 74 to start, Jack then put together three great rounds of golf 67,69,69 to leave him on seven under par. These scores were good enough for him to take the title by two clear shots. Well done Jack
