Our Very Own Superbike!

Lucien’s was packed to the rafters on Saturday 18th February as people came to celebrate the unveiling of Hornsea’s very own Super Bike- a Yamaha R6. Everquip are a Hornsea based British Super Sport team that are to compete in the 2017 British Super Bike series starting in April. They will be competing at all the famous circuits in the UK, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Donnington Park etc as well as the Assen TT Circuit in Northern Holland. Manager Stuart Everard introduced the team who were quite emotional at seeing their dream become a reality. They head off to Cartagena in Spain at the end of February for a four day test followed by further tests at Donnington Park and Silverstone before the first race at Donnington Park on 1st April. There are 24 races and all will be screened live on Eurosport with a highlights package on ITV 4. The team is very Hornsea-Centric, the team owners Stuart and Carl Crisp both live in Hornsea, the rider the South African Bjorn Estment and most of the team mechanics live in Hornsea. The team is based just outside of Hornsea in Rolston. Stuart stressed that they have put together a very experienced team with the intention of winning and really putting Hornsea on the map! Everquip Garage Equipment Limited also sponsor the Hornsea Bike Event and in fact the initial idea to start the team happened at that event! There are opportunities for other companies to become part of the team through sponsorship with packages to suit all budgets. We will keep you up to date on the team’s progress throughout the course of the season.
