East Coast Community Fund

The Grantscape team and Dong Energy had a busy time answering questions from Hornsea residents on Wednesday 12th October.  They were presenting the results of the consultations for the East Coast Community Fund which Dong has set aside to support communities within the vicinity of its Hornsea and Race Bank Offshore Wind Farm Developments off the Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and North Norfolk Coast. The Fund is worth around £465,000 each year for a 20 year period.  It will be launched in December of this year with the first closing date for applications on 15th March 2017.  First round decisions will be made by the end of June 2017 and there will be two closing dates each year (one every six months). Although a final decision has not yet been taken, the results of the consultation suggest that the favoured amounts for allocation will be small grants of between £1,000 – £5,000 and main grants of £5,000 – £50,000 which will require 20% matched funding. Favoured projects will be:
  1. Community buildings and facilities
  2. Community activities and services
  3. Environment and Public open space
  4. Sports, recreation and play. Up to £100,000 has been earmarked for STEM (Science, technology, Engineering and Maths) projects.
CVS has been contacted to recruit local representatives to form the panel of judges.  Grantscape is happy to advise groups on the criteria for applications.  Tel: 01908 247634 or email: [email protected]
